Calaveras County Department of Public Works would like to inform the public that construction for the 2023 Road Resurfacing and Paving Program (SB1 Funded) will begin on Friday, October 27, 2023, and continue through mid-November. 

There will be traffic delays due to the road construction in Mokelumne Hill and West Point. Construction sites include Bald Mountain Road, Campo Seco Turnpike, Center Street, Church Street, Easy Bird Road, Edna Drive, Golden Gate Drive, Lafayette Street, Main Street, Maretta Lane, Peek Circle, Spring Hill Drive and Zumwalt Street.

Construction activities will take place from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm, weekdays. Flaggers, pilot cars and warning devices will be utilized at the construction zones. Motorists and pedestrians are urged to use caution in the area. 

The 2023 Road Resurfacing and Paving Program is being constructed by George Reed Construction, Inc. who is under contract with Calaveras County Public Works Department.
