Public statements or actions by members that are defamatory, threatening, harassing, or that celebrate violence or loss of life may be considered inconsistent with Chamber values. The Chamber reserves the right to suspend or terminate membership, without refund, if a member’s actions materially harm the reputation of the Chamber, its members, or the community. Termination of membership will be at the discretion of the Chamber Board of Directors. Certificates of Origin Policy The Calaveras County Chamber of Commerce is not legally required to issue or sign Certificates of Origin. We may, at our discretion, provide certification services as a member benefit or community service. Scope of Service Certificates of Origin may be issued only for goods that are manufactured, produced, or substantially transformed within the United States. The Chamber reserves the right to restrict this service to Chamber members and/or businesses physically located in Calaveras County. The Chamber may refuse certification for any reason, including incomplete documentation, suspicion of fraud, or lack of sufficient proof of origin. The Calaveras Chamber requires a minimum of 24 hours to review your documents before any signatures can be made. Liability & Disclaimer The Chamber makes no warranties, expressed or implied, regarding the accuracy of information provided by applicants. Businesses requesting certification must supply complete and truthful documentation and sign an indemnification statement holding the Chamber harmless from any liability, loss, or damages arising from the use of the Certificate. The Chamber’s role is limited to verifying documents supplied by the applicant; it does not independently investigate or guarantee product origin. Fees A processing fee of $100 will be charged for each Certificate of Origin. Fees may be discounted or waived for Chamber members. Fees are non-refundable, even if a request is denied. Alternatives If the Chamber cannot or chooses not to certify a Certificate of Origin, applicants will be referred to other certifying bodies or electronic certification platforms. Indemnification By participating in our events, utilizing our resources, or engaging with the Chamber in any way, you agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the Calaveras Chamber, its staff, board, contractors, and partners from any and all claims, liabilities, damages, or expenses arising from your participation or conduct. Limitation of Liability The Chamber provides services, programs, and events on an “as-is” basis without warranties. In no event shall the Chamber’s liability exceed the price paid for a product or ticket to an event. Enforcement The Chamber reserves the right to take appropriate action if a member or participant is found to be in violation of this Code of Conduct or these policies, up to and including suspension or termination of membership. Building a Stronger Business Community since 1928 Mission Statement The Calaveras Chamber is dedicated to creating and promoting a prosperous community through business advocacy and growth. Our mission is to foster strong relationships among local businesses and provide resources for economic prosperity. From marketing advice to strategies for business development, we provide a range of resources to support our members. Our regular networking events and workshops provide opportunities to connect with other local businesses and learn valuable skills for growth. We offer a range of marketing and promotional opportunities for our members, including advertising, sponsorships, and participation in community events, and we advocate for policies and initiatives that benefit our members and the local business community, and work closely with local governments to promote economic growth. A Legacy of Business and Community in Calaveras County For nearly a century, the Calaveras County Chamber of Commerce has been part of the story of business, tourism, and community life in the Mother Lode. Business records identify 1928 as the beginning of the Chamber’s local operation, during a time when Calaveras County was evolving beyond its Gold Rush-era mining economy and building a future rooted in agriculture, tourism, small business, and community. From the beginning, the Chamber brought local business owners and community leaders together to promote the county and the communities, attractions, and resources that make Calaveras unique. The Chamber’s history is closely connected to the preservation and promotion of Calaveras County’s rich heritage. In 1930, the Chamber erected the California Historical Landmark plaque commemorating San Andreas, one of the county’s earliest Gold Rush communities. The Chamber also worked with state organizations on historic preservation and tourism efforts, including efforts in 1951 to preserve and designate the historic Red School House near Altaville as a landmark. These early efforts reflect a longstanding commitment to celebrating the places, stories, and traditions that help make Calaveras County a destination for visitors and a special place to call home. Today, the Calaveras County Chamber of Commerce carries that legacy forward by supporting the businesses, organizations, and communities that make the county thrive. Through networking, education, marketing, workforce initiatives, community events, and business resources, the Chamber helps promote Calaveras County as a great place to do business, visit, and live.

ETP Updates Coming SOON Get Reimbursed with the Chamber You may qualify for reimbursement funding from the CA ETP If you are a Calaveras Chamber Member and you train or up-skill employees at your place of business, you may qualify for reimbursement funding. Please book a meeting with the Chamber below to see how to qualify and access funding before the end of 2027! ETP ORIENTATION Register for Meeting What is ETP? The Employment Training Panel (ETP) is a business and labor-supported state agency that funds the costs of vocational training. ETP is governed by an 8 member Panel . ETP is funded by a tax on employers, collected alongside the Unemployment Insurance tax. ETP receives no General Fund support. The program is funded by the Employment Training Tax paid by California employers, and targets firms threatened by out-of-state competition or who compete in the global economy. The program is performance-based. Employers must provide proof that training hours have been completed and trainees have been retrained in well-paying jobs for a specific period of time at a specified wage before ETP reimburses payment. Since its inception in 1982, ETP has reimbursed employers well over $1 billion for training workers in more than 80,000 businesses. For Incumbent Worker training, employers contribute to the cost of training. ETP also funds training for unemployed workers ETP provides additional incentive to assist small businesses and employers in high unemployment areas of the State. Learn More
