< Back Moaning Caverns Adventure Park (209)736-2708 ... https://moaningcaverns.com/ 5350 Moaning Cave Road Vallecito, CA, 95251 Moaning Caverns was discovered in the 1840s by gold miners but there is evidence of arrowheads and other pointed tools that appear to have been quarried in the area, date back thousands of years and tell us that the first humans on the continent may have lived near Moaning Caverns. Artifacts and bones found in the cave date back hundreds of years and give us some insight into these ancient people. A necklace, displayed at our visitor center, was found in a clay layer and is estimated to be over 8,000 years old! Our name comes from the moaning sounds that echoed out of the cave. Miners may have heard that sound when they came to this area in large numbers during the late 1840s. In their search for gold, they explored the cavern, entering through the small natural entrance and then lowering themselves to the floor of the main room by means of a large ore bucket on a winch. They used candles and whale oil lamps for light. Today you can explore Moaning Caverns on a cave tour, deep underground! Previous Next

Sponsorship Acknowledgment & Promotions The Calaveras Chamber of Commerce will make every effort to recognize and promote sponsors in event marketing, advertising, and communications. Sponsorships received after print or digital materials have been published will be acknowledged in subsequent promotions whenever possible. While we cannot retroactively update materials already in circulation, we will ensure recognition in available ongoing promotions (e.g., website, email, social media, on-site signage, event announcements). The Chamber values every sponsor and will always strive to provide fair and visible acknowledgment within the limits of production schedules and resources. Event Access & Termination The Chamber reserves the right to deny entry to, or remove from, any event or program any individual who violates our Terms & Conditions or Code of Conduct, without refund. The Chamber also reserves the right to block or revoke digital access to Chamber resources if misused. You agree not to use this website for any unlawful purposes, nor to interfere with its operation or security. Unauthorized access attempts or scraping of data may result in legal action. Third-Party Content & Speaker Views Event presentations, guest speakers, and third-party resources provided through our platforms are for informational purposes only and do not constitute official advice or endorsements by the Chamber. Administrative Policies Privacy Policy We collect basic contact and business information to better serve our members and event attendees. We do not sell personal data. By participating in our programs or subscribing to our mailing list, you agree to receive communications from us, which you may unsubscribe from at any time. Events: We strive to ensure that our in-person events are accessible to all. Certificates of Origin Policy The Calaveras County Chamber of Commerce is not legally required to issue or sign Certificates of Origin. We may, at our discretion, provide certification services as a member benefit or community service. Scope of Service Certificates of Origin may be issued only for goods that are manufactured, produced, or substantially transformed within the United States. The Chamber reserves the right to restrict this service to Chamber members and/or businesses physically located in Calaveras County. The Chamber may refuse certification for any reason, including incomplete documentation, suspicion of fraud, or lack of sufficient proof of origin. The Calaveras Chamber requires a minimum of 24 hours to review your documents before any signatures can be made. Liability & Disclaimer The Chamber makes no warranties, expressed or implied, regarding the accuracy of information provided by applicants. Businesses requesting certification must supply complete and truthful documentation and sign an indemnification statement holding the Chamber harmless from any liability, loss, or damages arising from the use of the Certificate. The Chamber’s role is limited to verifying documents supplied by the applicant; it does not independently investigate or guarantee product origin. Fees A processing fee of $100 will be charged for each Certificate of Origin. Fees may be discounted or waived for Chamber members. Fees are non-refundable, even if a request is denied. Alternatives If the Chamber cannot or chooses not to certify a Certificate of Origin, applicants will be referred to other certifying bodies or electronic certification platforms. Indemnification By participating in our events, utilizing our resources, or engaging with the Chamber in any way, you agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the Calaveras Chamber, its staff, board, contractors, and partners from any and all claims, liabilities, damages, or expenses arising from your participation or conduct. Limitation of Liability The Chamber provides services, programs, and events on an “as-is” basis without warranties. In no event shall the Chamber’s liability exceed the price paid for a product or ticket to an event. Enforcement The Chamber reserves the right to take appropriate action if a member or participant is found to be in violation of this Code of Conduct or these policies, up to and including suspension or termination of membership. Changes to Policies We may update our policies and terms periodically. Continued use of our services, website, or event participation implies acceptance of any changes.
